Home Sweet Home Afternoon Tea
The Greenwich Tea Company does Afternoon Tea... find out what we thought of Home Sweet Home in Manchester's Deansgate
On a cold and wet August day in Manchester, to cheer ourselves up we decided to take ourselves for a nice afternoon tea.
Feeling in an indulgent mood and having already sampled a traditional afternoon tea recently, we decided to scour the internet for something a little different.
We were welcomed in by friendly staff and seated at our spacious table. We were informed that tea and coffee with the afternoon tea was ‘unlimited’. This was music to my ears.
All tea was loose leaf and freshly served in a cafetiere, each. We opted for one Moroccan mint and one English breakfast.
Next the afternoon tea was served up to us.
It did not disappoint and was certainly a little different to others we had experienced.
Lets start with the savoury tier. Instead of your finger sandwich selection, we were presented with open mini bagels.
These deliciously scrumptious little gems were delightful. With cheddar cheese and tomato, smoked salmon and cream cheese and an open BLT served up with a sprinkle of paprika crisps.
The next tier was a stack of warm churros doughnuts with two generous dipping sauces- Nutella and white chocolate. We were in chocolate heaven...
The Home Sweet Home Afternoon Tea is a Manchester must try!
The third tier was particularly indulgent and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.
We were served a strawberries and cream cupcake, mini red velvet brownies, cake truffles, a lemon meringue and a rich chocolate mousse.
We slowly ate our way through afternoon tea heaven and each got through two cafetieres of tea.
The staff at Home Sweet Home were amazing and we could not fault our experience AT ALL.
At £20 each this was a real rainy day slice of heaven.
